Weekend Recap: Long Island Bridesmaid

This week I enjoyed a nice extended weekend to celebrate the wedding of one of my best friends from college. The trip started out with a drive to JFK to pick up one of my other best friends from college. For this PA girl, there was a little bit too much traffic and lane switching without turn signals, but we survived and made it to our destination around late morning. We stopped along the way at Glenn’s Dinette for a late breakfast. I got the Blue Monkey Pancake, which was made with blueberries and bananas and tasted awesome! Next since we had some time to spare before the welcome dinner we explored Fire Island. It was a little overcast out, but the rain held off and it was nice to explore the area.

That night in lieu of a rehearsal there was a welcome dinner at Honu. The food there was fantastic! I would definitely go back again. For the appetizer I had the Crispy Shrimp, entree was Roasted Black Sea Bass, and dessert was the Lemon Creme Brûlée with fresh berries. Mmmm.

Friday I woke up ready to celebrate the wedding day of one of my best friends. I headed over to her house in the morning for hair and make-up and hanging out. I think everything went pretty smoothly and before we knew it, it was time for the big event.

The venue was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. Overall it was a great day and I had so much fun dancing and celebrating!

The next day it was time to head back to Jersey, and it was sad to say good-bye to my friends. Definitely don’t get to see these ladies enough since we all live in different states. Makes me miss our college days…

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with the Husband. We did some running, some eating out, and some World Cup watching. Can I just say that I have become addicted to the World Cup games?! There have been so many good ones this far. And the USA vs Portugal game….ugh USA had it in the bag, and then well… I can’t even talk about it…Excited to see what will happen on Thursday…#ibelieve!

What World Cup team are you rooting for?
