Farro, Farro…

Farro. Some of you may have no idea what I am talking about. Others may, like me be intrigued by this little grain. Farro is an ancient grain that has recently been gaining popularity among the healthy living community. Farro is a whole grain, but it is not in the same family as wheat, so it is also a great alternative for gluten-free people. Plus farro is a great source of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein.

This week I tried my first farro recipe. I got the 10-minute farro from Trader Joe’s and just followed the recipe on the back.


It called for mixing the farro with chicken sausage, sautéed apples, garlic, and onion.


I was quite impressed and will definitely be adding farro to dishes more often.
