Celebrating Pi Day!

Did you know that March 14, or 3/14, is Pi day? I know, a little bit nerdy right? But honestly what better reason to indulge in a slice of pie? This morning for breakfast I decided to make a little pi(e) of my own, Strawberry Pi(e) Oats!

Typic

Ingredients

– 1/4 cup steel cut oats

– 1 1/4 cups water

– 1 tbsp strawberry jam

– 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder

– 1/4 cup chopped strawberries

– 1 tbsp crushed pretzels

– 1 tbsp chopped walnuts

Directions

First bring bring the water to a boil on the stove top in a small pan.

After the water comes to a boil, add the oats and turn to a simmer for ~20 min, or until the oats thicken to your liking.

Just before you take them off the heat, stir in the jam and protein powder.

Remove from heat, and add remaining ingredients! The strawberries + jam act as the filling and the walnuts + pretzels act as the crust. So you can enjoy a delicious bowl of Strawberry Pi(e) for Breakfast!
