Slimmed Down Shamrock Shake

The one food item I will go to McDonalds for is the Shamrock Shake. It sucks me in every year, I swear. Its so cool, creamy, and minty. But now I found an alternative! I searched around on-line and found a bunch of recipes to re-create the Shamrock Shake at home. However, I figured if I’m going to do it at home, I’m going to make a healthier version, and indeed I did. I based my recipe off of this one here, and then did the following:

Ingredients

– 1 (6oz) Light or Fat-free Vanilla Yogurt

– ~1/2 – 3/4 cup Skim Milk

– ~ 1/2 cup Fresh Spinach

– 1 tbsp Whey or Soy Vanilla Protein Powder

– 1 Drop of Mint Extract

– 3 to 4 ice cubes for good measure

Add all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth! Now this shake isn’t as think, but it does have that cool, minty flavor. Adding frozen yogurt could help thicken it up, if you prefer them that way. Either way, happy slurping!
